Early Life & Education
Ademola Adeleke was born to the late Chief Ayoola Adeleke and Esther Adeleke‘s family on May 13, 1960 in Enugu State, Nigeria. He originally hails from Osun State, Nigeria.
His parents were Esther Adeleke (mother), an ardent Igbo Christian, and Late Chief Ayoola Adeleke (father), a Muslim. His brothers are Adedeji Adeleke, Davido‘s father and the late Isiaka Adeleke.

In addition, Ademola Adeleke‘s father served as the Balogun of Ede Land in Osun State when he was alive. He represented Nigeria’s Osun-west senatorial constituency till June 2019. The Ede Local Government Area is the ancestral home of his family.
Ademola Adeleke attended Nawarudeen Primary School in Ikire after starting his primary education at Methodist Primary School in Surulere, Lagos State. He continued schooling at the Ede Muslim Grammar School, Ede, before traveling to the US to live with his two older brothers.
He stated that he studied political science and criminal justice at Jacksonville State University in Alabama, which is located in the United States.

Ademola Adeleke served as a service contractor for the Quicksilver Courier Company in Atlanta, Georgia, between the years 1985 to 1988. He worked as vice president of Origin International LLC, an American firm that produces flavors and fragrances, from 1990 until 1994.

After declaring the election inconclusive, the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) set a new election date for September 27, 2018. The APC candidate Adegboyega Oyetola prevailed in the second round. Ademola Adeleke contested the results and referred to the election as a “coup.” A Tribunal declared Adeleke, the election’s winner on March 22, 2019.
However, Adegboyega Oyetola went to the Court of Appeal to have his win upheld. In a lead judgment issued on May 9, 2019, in Abuja, Justice Hannatu Sankey ruled Adegboyega Oyetola, the winner, after setting aside all of the Tribunal’s proceedings due to their “faulty composition.”
However, Ademola Adeleke, who was dissatisfied and thought he had been robbed, went to the Supreme Court; regrettably, the high court confirmed the decision made by the Appeal Court on Friday, July 5, 2019.

Ademola Adeleke won the PDP primary held in Osogbo on March 8, 2022, and ran in the 22 governor’s race in Osun. He was declared the winner of the Osun State Governorship election by INEC on the 17th of October 2022.
